Ensemble Simul

Music that transforms lives

Ensemble Simul is a recorder group from the Dorcas Project – Music in the Neighborhood, an initiative that offers free music education to children and young people from communities in situations of social vulnerability.

The group was born in 2019, from the desire of more experienced students to deepen their knowledge of music and be part of a rich and creative collective experience.

Ensemble Simul

More Than Music

Being part of Ensemble Simul means growing as a musician and as a person. In rehearsals and performances, members develop skills in listening, cooperation, responsibility, and artistic expression.

Each performance is an opportunity to share joy, beauty, and inspiration with the audience.

Creative Performances

Ensemble Simul has performed in concerts, symposia, and national and international events, both in-person and virtual. In addition to careful musical interpretation, the group often uses movements, choreography, and costumes, making each performance unique and engaging — and showing that music can also tell stories.

Who Participates

The group is formed by adolescents teenagers with a long trajectory in the Dorcas Project and by collaborating teachers.

Participation is voluntary, and rehearsals are spaces for dialogue and collective construction: everyone has a voice in musical and artistic decisions, strengthening team spirit and youth protagonism.

Repertoire and Proposal

The artistic proposal of Ensemble Simul is to explore chamber music for recorder, with a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance and Baroque to contemporary creations.

The diversity of works expands the musical knowledge of young people and brings the audience closer to different eras and styles.
